Pretty good - I think you clearly identify the parts of the article that you (and we, as gamers) take issue with. I'm not sure about the "gamers experienced open derision" part - I don't recall it as being derision, it was suspicion, and fear. I think that paragraph would be more effective if you focussed more on the culture of ignorance, fear and suspicion that caused the "debate" in the first place.
The whole thing was anagalous to the "Satanism" and child abuse trials of the same time period - manufactured hysteria later proved to be false.
