OW and Citadel Mummies

As you know, this is the Summer of (painting) the Undead for me. I've accumulated a horde of various undead in the last year, and now I've started to tackle the leadpile.

Specifically, I'm paiting the undead range from Otherworld Miniatures and also their corresponding Citadel cousins from back in the day.

I've painted OW and Citadel skeletons and shadows, so here are the mummies. I'm sorta, kinda, doing everything else but the ghouls and the zombies because I don't think I can do a great job of dead-looking skin. We'll see.

  1. Very nice! I've got a set of these on their way in the mail. So who knows when they'll arrive... :)

  2. Those OW miniatures look really nice. What I am really waiting for are a set of Old School adventurers - none of these super-hero 4e sorts, but the novice cleric, the fighter with scavenged armour, the thief who is more likely to get caught than vanish into thin air. Those kind of adventurers.

By the way, you know that Citadel sell a very basic set of five plastic skeletons for £5 (at least here in the UK).

  3. I'm waiting for the same style adventurers too.

The citadel ad&ds fit the bill nicely, but it would be nice to have something recent.

  4. Those are some nice looking mummies!
I'm surprised how well the Otherworld minis fit with the old night horrors line from Citadel. That's either a testament to the classic nature of those old miniatures - or Otherworld really went back to the source for inspiration for their sculpts...

Also, based on the nice rotting mummy flesh you've got there on the top two minis, I don't think you're going to have a problem with zombies and ghouls.
