Have any of you read the chat transcript from today? If WotC was ever interested in reclaiming gamers of previous editions, it sure doesn't sound like it now.
Anyway, our group plans on kicking the tires on the playtest regardless. The primary upside? I won't have to DM! WooHoo!
heh! nice ;)
ReplyDeletei'll be reading the rules, but i don't think i have time to play them, what with running one group (and soon a second) and hopefully playing in one.
as for the transcript - Grumpy is working on that :)
So if 5E turns out to be really awesome are you going to revise Barrowmaze to be compatible? Maybe a conversion book?
ReplyDeleteI'm kidding. ;]
This d&d is supposed to be modular and backwards compatible - thus no conversions should be necessary from LL. Try not to hold your breath or choke on your toast as you read that.
ReplyDeleteI can only handle so much comedy. Maybe after WotC is done with 5E, they could unit the world in peace.
DeleteEr..."unite", but I blame the toast in my esophagus for that typo.
DeleteYou may be surprised at what you find. I can honestly say that I've had not trouble raiding any edition for antagonists.
ReplyDeleteThe bar is higher than just being able to repurpose opponents. If I can't run both Undermountain (2e) and Stonehell (1e) beside Castle Whiterock (3e) without converting everything first (which I'm never gonna do), then 5e doesn't do the job I want from a "united" system. I might as well stick with what I already have if it doesn't bring anything new to the table.
