One of the things I enjoy about old school modules, like Keep on the Borderlands, is the shared experience. No matter the group, you can share tales about your adventures in the Keep with people you've never played with and there would be that familiarity.
"I've been there!" so to speak, "We tried this . . ."
Barrowmaze has that perfect shared experience from the start.
Particularly with this session, when the husk of the giant snake is mentioned, was when that thought ran through my mind. The girls faced the giant rattle snake in that same room last Sunday.
"They've been there! They tried this . . ."
Barrowmaze, just like the Keep, can be inserted perfectly to fit your needs. Sean's "Catapesh" campaign is a good example of that.
Note: This comment was not supposed to become an advertisement, heh. Not to mention you wrote the thing.

No worries at all. My group, after months, are just now heading north of the great snake room. Finally! :)
